1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the PARD Predator Series thermal imaging camera.
Read this manual carefully before using the device for the first time.
Proper use and maintenance prolongs the service life and ensures optimal performance.

The manual goes through step-by-step instructions on how to install, use, and maintain your Predator camera.

2. Safety and precautions

  • Remove the insulation tape on the battery before first use.

  • Only use a fully charged 3.7V Li-ion 18650 battery.

  • Turn off the device and remove the battery if it will not be used for more than 10 days.

  • Keep both the device and battery dry and safe.

  • Avoid pointing the camera directly at strong light sources (e.g. the sun or welding lights) – this may damage the sensor.

  • Always use the lens cap when the camera is not in use.

  • Store the device at temperatures between -30°C and +55°C.

  • Do not disassemble the device – this will void the warranty.

  • Export outside the country requires a separate permit.

4. Product Description and Key Features

The Predator Series is a compact thermal clip-on camera that can be mounted in front of a day scope.
This allows for seamless transition between day and night use without changing the zero point of the sight.

7. Installation

1. Preparation

  • Unpack the device and check that all accessories are included.

  • Check that lenses, buttons and screen are undamaged.

  • Make sure the lens is clean.

2. Battery installation

  1. Unscrew the battery cover.

  2. Remove the insulation tape.

  3. Insert the battery with the positive terminal first.

  4. Screw the cover back on.

  5. Hold the power button down for 3 seconds to turn on.

💡 When the PARD logo appears, the device is ready.

3. Mounting on day sight

  • Use the corresponding adapter (sold separately).

  • Place a protective layer of tape on the front lens of the day sight.

  • Install the adapter and lock it in place with the clamping lever.

  • Make sure the image appears centered in the daytime view.

4. Focusing

Point the camera at an object and turn the focus ring until the image is sharp.

5. Compass calibration

Make movements in a “figure 8” pattern to calibrate the electronic compass.


8. Operation

8.1 Shortcut mode

Use the five main buttons for quick control:

8.2 Menu mode

Here you can adjust all functions.

Image settings

Adjust contrast, brightness, target type, and color mode.
The settings are saved automatically.

Zeroing (insertion)

Adjust the thermal reticle to match your day sight.
Adjust X/Y coordinates and save the settings.

Gyroscope and compass

Calibrate for correct display of slope and direction.

Scenes

Choose between City, Forest or Rain for the best picture under the conditions.

Hot Track

Automatically follow hottest point on screen.

Recoil shooting

Enable automatic video recording on recoil.
Adjustable in Low / Medium / High sensitivity.

Automatic shutdown

Select 1, 10 or 30 minutes of inactivity before auto-off.

Wi-Fi

Turn on Wi-Fi and connect via the PardVision2 app:

  1. Download the app.

  2. Find the Wi-Fi network that starts with PARD.

  3. Enter password: 12345678.

Language and date

Select the desired language and adjust the system time.

Formatting

Deletes all content on the SD card (cannot be restored).

Recovery

Resets the device to factory settings.

Firmware update

Update software via SD card. Only use fully charged battery.

The product complies with FCC Part 15 standards.
Unauthorized changes may void user authorization.
The device must be used in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.


10. Maintenance and tips

  • Use a soft lens cloth for cleaning.

  • Avoid moisture and extreme temperatures.
